David is originally from England although he lived, studied and worked in Wales for 15 years before moving to Scotland.
Whilst living in Cardiff, David was part of a multi-award-winning architectural practice, where he worked on high-profile projects that have won, and were shortlisted for, multiple RIBA and Grand Designs awards. His work has been widely published throughout the architectural press. He was also lead designer on buildings that received three Gold Medals for Architecture in Wales in 2007, 2014 & 2015, the RIBA ‘House of the Year’ award 2014, the prestigious Manser Medal in 2016, and shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize 2016, the most important architectural prize in the UK. Despite missing out on the Stirling Prize itself the project did however win the BBC public vote!
Outside of architecture, David is a keen musician. He also loves sport, cinema…….and his cat Gertrude. Despite working on lots of prestigious projects his most challenging project to date has been designing a spiral cat staircase for Gertrude!
