LBA Celebrate JOhn Cameron’s RIAS COnservation Accreditation
We are proud to share that our Associate, John Cameron, has been awarded RIAS Conservation Accreditation, recognising his specialist expertise in the repair, adaptation, and thoughtful conservation of Scotland’s historic buildings.
This accreditation from The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) demonstrates John’s commitment to best practice in conservation architecture and strengthens Studio LBA’s ability to deliver sensitive, design-led interventions across a wide range of historically significant and listed properties.
John’s portfolio includes the adaptive reuse and restoration of numerous notable listed buildings within Edinburgh’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, the sensitive conversion of rural steadings and the creative transformation of heritage structures into contemporary, sustainable spaces. His approach to these projects is always with deep respect for the original fabric, local character, and protecting the future legacy of these buildings by fully assessing the buildings environmental impact.
John Cameron Jr, Associate at Studio LBA, said:
“I’m incredibly proud to have achieved RIAS Conservation Accreditation. Working with historic buildings offers a unique opportunity to bridge the past and present, retaining cultural significance while designing for future use. I’m passionate about delivering conservation work that is both respectful and forward-thinking.”
Lynsay Bell Manson, Managing Director at Studio LBA, added:
“This well-earned recognition of John’s skills and dedication to conservation is so well deserved. John has been eagerly preparing for this professional qualification since becoming a chartered architect with us 5 years ago, as you have to be 5 years working as a qualified architect before you can apply to the RIAS. His accreditation enhances the studio’s ability to take on increasingly complex and sensitive conservation work. As more of our projects involve the reimagining of historic sites, John’s expertise ensures we maintain the highest standards of care and creativity and we are absolutely delighted for him.”
At Studio LBA, we believe in the enduring value of heritage and the potential of conservation-led design to enrich communities. John’s accreditation marks an exciting step in our continued commitment to the UK’s architectural legacy.
