John began his architectural journey at the University of Dundee, where he earned his Masters in Architecture with Merit. His thesis focused on developing remote rural and sustainable housing typologies on Scotland’s Knoydart peninsula, reflecting his passion for historical conservation and bespoke rural housing designs.
As an Associate at LBA, John leads his team with finesse, guiding projects from inception to handover. His exceptional communication skills and expertise in navigating complex planning issues ensure the delivery of high-value projects that exceed stakeholders’ expectations. With extensive experience in conservation and a talent for working with challenging structures, John has led numerous prestigious projects within Edinburgh’s UNESCO World Heritage site, revitalizing historic buildings.
Outside of work, John is an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying football, golf, and cycling. He spends his holidays exploring Scotland’s landscapes, honing his photography skills. Currently, John is dedicated to advancing his expertise as he pursues qualification as an Accredited Conservation Architect.
